G Live appoints NEW Director!

We are delighted to announce that Derek Aldridge is our new venue Director.

After nine incredibly successful years overseeing the Wyvern Theatre and the Arts Centre in Swindon, also for HQ Theatres & Hospitality, this opportunity has come at the right time for both Derek and G Live.

Julian Russell, Chief Executive of HQ Theatres & Hospitality said: ‘I am delighted to be able to confirm Derek’s appointment as G Live’s new venue Director. Derek is widely recognised as one of the country’s leading theatre directors. He brings with him many years of experience, industry knowledge, a commitment to the local community and a passion for outstanding customer service.’

Prior to his time as a Theatre Director, Derek has worked in many different roles in venues: from selling tickets and ushering in the West End, to being part of the launch team for a brand new theatre in Milton Keynes; from running the sales and marketing operation at the Everyman Theatre in Gloucestershire to being in charge of the historic Town Hall in Cheltenham.

Derek Aldridge said, ‘I am honoured to join the splendid team at G Live to continue to develop its reputation as the best place to enjoy live entertainment in Surrey. It is a huge privilege to be able to offer a wide range of nationally and locally produced shows. Now, more than ever, it is important to escape the pace of modern life, have fun and make memories with each other.’

With Derek’s broad knowledge and experience of the arts world, G Live’s hard-working team and our local community’s continued support, there is a plethora of new possibilities for the future.
